Profile Guidelines
Be Your Authentic Self
Your profile should represent the real you. Authentic profiles lead to better connections and a more trustworthy community.
Do
Use recent photos that clearly show your face
Write a bio that reflects your genuine personality and interests
Be honest about your age, location, and intentions
Update your profile to keep it current
Don't
Use photos of someone else or celebrity images
Use heavily filtered or edited photos that misrepresent your appearance
Create fake or misleading profiles
Impersonate another person
Maintain multiple accounts
Photo Standards
Photos are the first impression you make. Keep them appropriate and authentic.
Acceptable Photos
Clear photos of yourself (face visible)
Photos showing your hobbies and interests
Group photos (as long as it's clear which person you are)
Photos with pets
Prohibited Photos
Nudity or sexually explicit content
Violent or graphic imagery
Photos of children without an adult present
Photos promoting illegal activities
Photos containing contact information or social media handles
Memes, text-only images, or commercial content
Interaction Guidelines
Respectful Communication
How you communicate matters. Every message should be respectful, even if you're not interested in someone.
Do
Be polite and courteous in all interactions
Respect when someone isn't interested
Take "no" for an answer gracefully
Ask for consent before sharing explicit content
Report concerning behavior to help keep the community safe
Don't
Send unsolicited sexual messages or images
Harass, bully, or intimidate others
Use offensive, discriminatory, or hateful language
Continue messaging someone who has asked you to stop
Make threats of any kind
Share someone's private information without consent
Prohibited Behavior
Zero Tolerance Policy
The following behaviors will result in immediate and permanent removal from PurpleConnect:
Sexual exploitation or abuse of minors - Any content or behavior involving minors
Human trafficking - Any form of exploitation or trafficking
Threats of violence - Threatening harm to yourself or others
Terrorism or violent extremism - Promoting or supporting terrorist activities
Sexual assault or coercion - Any non-consensual sexual behavior
We report illegal activity to law enforcement authorities.
Harassment & Abuse
We have no tolerance for harassment in any form. This includes:
Bullying, intimidation, or threatening behavior
Stalking or repeatedly contacting someone who has blocked you
Sharing or threatening to share intimate images without consent ("revenge porn")
Doxxing or sharing personal information to harass someone
Coordinated harassment or pile-on attacks
Hate Speech & Discrimination
PurpleConnect is for everyone. We do not tolerate discrimination or hate speech based on:
Race, ethnicity, or national origin
Religion or religious beliefs
Gender identity or expression
Sexual orientation
Disability
Age
Any other protected characteristic
Scams & Deceptive Behavior
Don't use PurpleConnect to deceive or defraud others:
Romance scams: Building fake relationships to steal money
Phishing: Attempting to obtain personal or financial information
Catfishing: Using fake identities to deceive others
Spam: Sending bulk or promotional messages
Prostitution or escort services: Soliciting or offering sexual services for money
Illegal Activities
Do not use PurpleConnect to promote, facilitate, or engage in illegal activities, including:
Drug trafficking or solicitation
Sale of illegal goods or services
Money laundering
Fraud or identity theft
Any other criminal activity
Commercial Activity
PurpleConnect is for personal connections, not business:
No advertising products or services
No promoting businesses or websites
No soliciting donations or crowdfunding
No recruiting for MLMs or pyramid schemes
No promoting social media accounts for followers
Safety Tips
Your safety is important to us. Here are some tips for staying safe while using PurpleConnect:
Protect Your Information
Don't share personal details like your address, workplace, or financial information with people you haven't met.
Meet in Public
For first meetings, choose a busy public place. Don't meet at your home or theirs.
Tell Someone
Let a friend or family member know your plans - where you're going and who you're meeting.
Stay in Control
Arrange your own transportation to and from the date. Don't rely on your date for rides.
Stay Sober
Keep your wits about you. Limit alcohol and never leave your drink unattended.
Trust Your Gut
If something feels off, it probably is. Don't hesitate to leave if you feel uncomfortable.
Reporting Violations
See Something? Say Something.
Help us keep PurpleConnect safe by reporting violations. You can report:
Inappropriate profiles or photos
Harassing or threatening messages
Scam or spam accounts
Underage users
Any behavior that violates these guidelines
How to report: Tap the three dots on any profile or message and select "Report." All reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team and kept confidential.
Consequences
What Happens When You Violate Guidelines
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
Warning: For minor first-time offenses
Temporary suspension: Your account may be suspended for a period of time
Content removal: Violating content will be removed from your profile
Feature restrictions: Certain features may be disabled
Permanent ban: Serious or repeated violations result in permanent removal
Legal action: Illegal activity may be reported to law enforcement
We reserve the right to take action on any account at our discretion to protect our community.
Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended or banned in error, you can appeal the decision by contacting our support team at appeals@purpleconnect.app. Please include:
Your username or email associated with the account
A detailed explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
Any relevant context or evidence
Our Trust & Safety team will review your appeal and respond within 7 business days.
Updates to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of PurpleConnect after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
